Thanksgiving

Better late than never... the pics are too good to pass up writing about Thanksgiving.  My parents came up from Houston for the week.  It was so nice having them here. On Wednesday we walked around the Gaylord Texan Hotel and saw the "Charlie Brown Christmas" Ice display. Unfortunately poor Kirsten got sick so she, Grandpa and Granny headed back to our house early.  On Thanksgiving Day, Christina, our babysitter, and her boyfriend, Anil, joined us for dinner.  All in all, it was a much needed relaxing week.

It wouldn't be the Gaylord TEXAN without a stuffed longhorn!

I just think this is a cool picture because their shoes are in focus and their faces aren't. Very nice camera work by my Dad and his new camera that I try in vain not to covet!  This is also the location where Kirsten threw up - right here in the crowded coffee shop!!!

Beautiful Katelyn!

I love this photo of Katelyn

Bundled up for ICE

Here is Linus quoting Luke 2 just like in the movie. It's a rare thing to hear Scripture quoted in a secular setting.  Even in Linus' little voice, it was very powerful!

At the end of ICE, there was this fabulous life size nativity made of ice with Linus' voice still quoting the story of Jesus' birth from Luke 2! So cool!!

Granny braised the turkey in this BIG bin overnight. It was delicious!  She is a great cook!

I'm so grateful for my godly Mom. I still call her when I need to vent or need advice.  She is a beautiful lady inside and out.

I love this picture of my Mom contemplating.  She's so pretty.

My Dad and Katelyn share a love of reading. Whenever he comes to stay with us or we with them, he and K read one of the classics.  Over Thanksgiving they read Moby Dick - the entire book in a week.  He would read one chapter and she'd read the next. K's in 2nd grade so it was no easy feat. I love this tradition that Grandpa started!
