Katelyn's Birthday

Katelyn turned 8 on February 13th.  This child is a trooper... so patient and understanding.  Days before her party the weather turned bitterly cold turning the roads icy and dangerous.  Snow fell and school was cancelled for several days.  We had to postpone her party and never once did she complain.  We are so proud of her.

She LOVED her big sister's 10th bday party back in October and wanted to celebrate in the same way so her BFF, Chloe, and cousin, Jordan, came over and all the girls had mani/pedis and then we went to dinner.

Kirsten and I sat opposite the 3 girls in our own "adult" chairs. Kirsten was thrilled with the chair massage.

Because we had to reschedule, the original dining location of choice, Macaroni Grill, was not feasible because by the time we got there after our nail appointment, there was a 1 hour wait.  So after considering other possible locations, she settled on none other than the fine dining establishment of .... wait for it ... Wendy's. How we got from Macaroni Grill to Wendy's I'll never know!!  Brad and I comforted ourselves with the truth that her party would now cost much less than originially expected.  Nothing like a bowl of watery chilli when you are planning on consuming large amounts of pasta and fresh bread dipped in olive oil.  But it was Katelyn's choice so we went with it.

Silliness and giggles abound!

Yum Yum!

Check out Josh's cool cowboy boots that he wears every chance he gets (Thank you, cousin Caleb).  If you've seen him out and about, you won't forget his boots worn with black basketball shorts.  My only comment: choose your battles, parents!

After our lovely dining experience (nothing like a Wendy's Frosty to make things right!) we went home to watch "The Parent Trap." And Chloe and Jordan spent the night.

More about Katelyn's actual birthday to follow....
