Today we spent the day in Waco for Baylor Homecoming. Brad and I graduated from Baylor back in the day... Acutally it was 1996 but it seems like forever ago!
It was such a lovely day. We drove down early for the largest and longest parade in the USA! I'm not kidding. They accomplish that by having random cars account for hundreds of the entries. But that doesn't matter. It was fun to see some of Brad's fraternity brothers and the kids love collecting the candy thrown at them, and I was even pelted by a t-shirt thrown from the Carter Bloodcare van - injury #1 of the day for me.
After the parade we headed to the game to watch some bad football against OSU. If you missed the game on TV, here is evidence of our poor playing... as if you need evidence.
But it was fun nonetheless. I think the people around us were only kicked or knocked or thrashed with the pompoms that were handed out at the gate about 800 times but they were all very gracious including the elderly gentleman sitting next to Kirsten who answered her football questions and shared his binoculars with her. That kids cracks us up! He eventually moved.... I don't have to tell you why.
Another time Katelyn, Josh and I went for a walk, and as
we were were climbing the steps to return to our seats, (get ready for injury #2 - although not really an injury) I was carrying Josh and was knocked over by a man coming down the steps. Josh and I fell sideways onto the people in the stands next to us. No one was hurt.... luckily the guy I fell on was stocky so he could handle Josh and me. He pushed us up while the man who knocked us over pulled. It was quite comical! Never a dull moment with the Lefflers!!!
There was a rock climbing wall in Touchdown Alley that both the girls climbed.
A very hungry Josh who didn't eat his Sausage McMuffin for breakfast (I mean, how can you not like a McD's Sausage McMuffin?). He's starving hence the look on his face. He ate an entire Chickfila sandwich for lunch. Yes, they had Chickfila at the game. Even Josh yelled, "Mom, the chi-f-a cow" when he saw it.
Lollipops are useful to keep a child entertained, I've heard. Unfortunately they only last about 1 minute with Josh!
at the end of the game
Entertaining passerbyers by cheering outside the stadium while Brad and Josh watched the 4th quarter.
