A few days off

We are all very excited that next week there is no school!!!  Days filled with late lazy mornings, steaming cups of coffee while watching morning cartoons, wearing our pjs til late in the day. It sounds dreamy!

Tomorrow night we are all going to a Texas Tornado Ice Hockey game.  Then on Saturday morning Katelyn is heading to Houston for a few days alone with Grandpa and Granny (my parents).  She is thrilled that she will get all the attention and be able to play with my childhood collection of Barbies and Legos that my mom saved.  It really is exciting going to my parents house.  Not to mention they have a hot tub... you can swim every day even in the winter.  We will definitely miss our sweet Katelyn but time alone with Kirsten while Josh is napping is in high demand and the supply is low. Don't worry, Lefflers and Volks! She'll be home on Wednesday morning in time to spend Thanksgiving with you and the Burks.

After dropping off Katelyn (I meet my parents halfway between their house and mine), I am headed to a much needed Girls' Night Out! I cannot wait.  It's all I think about these days!!!  Did I mention it's much needed???  3 friends and I are spending the night at a hotel in Dallas and shopping at Chi Omega Christmas Market.  Woo Hoo!!!  Brad, Kirsten and Josh will no doubt be frequenting McDonalds, Chickfila, Sonic and the like. Who cares about a lot of fast food in 24 hours when your mom usually makes you eat several fruits and veggies daily?  And, much to their delight, they will get to play in the germ-infested play grounds of such places - playgrounds their germaphobic mother certainly does not frequent! I'm more than willing to pay the price of the consequences so I can delight in the company of precious girlfriends and shop!

As mentioned before, we are spending Thanksgiving with the Lefflers (Brad's family) close by.  It will be fun to play with all the cousins.

Off to work on Mom2Mom stuff in preparation for Bible Study tomorrow.  Our lesson is about patience... something I severely lack!

Good night
