Daddy's Home!

While Brad has not been travelling, it sure has felt like it this week.  He was been working on a deadline that's kept him out late ...  last night I went to bed at 11 and he was still at work.  The deadline was met at 11 last night. Tonight he came home at 5:30 tonight. Y-E-A-H!!!  We are so thrilled to have him back!

My sister-in-law's blog from the other day is so true. Our house may be in disarray, Josh crying about something related to a 2 year old, Katelyn crying because she's afraid to miss even one word on her first spelling test tomorrow (mind you she missed NONE on the pre-test on Monday), and Kirsten yelling that I'm the meanest mom in the world, and Daddy walks in and all is well.  The tension eases and peace returns to our otherwise chaotic home.

Our house is not always chaotic. But there's always a hubbub going on over here... some of it's good hubbub and some is bad hubbub.  We have 3 kids - it's the nature of a family.

I'm truly grateful for my husband. It's obvious that the Lord brought us together... we both have strong personalities but his strengths complement my weaknesses and vice versa.  We were created by God for each other. Isn't that beautiful.  And our kids were each created as they are to be our kids.  How awesome to know that the Lord knit our family together just perfectly... just how he wanted us to be.

Tonight my wonderful husband could tell by the look on my face during dinner that I had had quite enough of the mealtime reminders: please don't yell at the table (or ever!), please sit on your bottom while you eat, please take another bite of Kings Ranch chicken, please don't throw your wadded up napkin at your sister.... Is it just us or do these things happen at your dinner table too.  At this rate, my kids will NEVER have good table manners.  But my dear husband saved the night by putting all 3 kids to bed while I cleaned up the kitchen. Bless him!
