Praying Pens

I am a part of Mom2Mom, a moms' group at Stonebriar Community Church that meets on Friday mornings.  One week we have a mini-seminar with a speaker and small group discussion.  The next week we have a Bible Study. This year we are studying A Woman's Walk with God: Growing in the the Fruit of the Spirit by Elizabeth George. I highly recommend the study.

Anyway, our fearless leader, Dana Bailey had a fabulous idea for Bible Study Fridays.  This coming Friday each mom will receive a pen with another mom's name in it. Each time the mom uses her pen, she is to pray for the mom whose name is inside her pen. Isn't that cool? So simple yet so profound!

Today I bought about 80 clear pens with backs that unscrew, typed out the moms' names, cut them up and put them into the pens.  Yes, if you are wondering, it was a beating to do but well worth it. What an encouragement to the mom being prayed for as well as to the mom praying knowing that someone is praying for her too!

It truly is a privelege to be a part of this amazing group. Mom2Mom has had a big impact on me and my family. I've drawn closer to the Lord through Bible Study but also through my relationships with other godly women.

Here's a picture of Dana and me at the end of year M2M Tea in May 2009.
