This weekend

We have a big weekend planned.  Sunday is Kirsten's birthday so most of our activities revolve around celebrating Kirsten's life.

It began yesterday when Grandpa and Granny arrived from Houston.  Granny and I surprised Kirsten by taking donuts (Kirsten's birthday treat of choice) to share with her class.  She didn't expect either of us to be there. Kirsten had the privelege of handing out the donuts to her classmates.  Then they all sang Happy Birthday while she stood shly by her desk.

This morning at school assembly, all the kids with bdays this week were called on stage and everyone sang... or rather yelled....a jumpy/dancy birthday song. The principal gave them each a Happy Birthday pencil.  Today is going to be extra fun bc Kirsten's class is going on a field trip to the Heard Museum.

Tonight she is going to buy her bday present with Daddy... a bike!  And tomorrow is her party complete with a horse cake.

Sunday is her actual birthday so we will continue our tradition of cupcakes for breakfast.

We are so grateful for our precious little girl. It's hard to believe she's turning 9!  Half of her childhood is over!  The Lord has blessed Kirsten beyond our wildest imaginations.  And to think that 9 years ago we wondered if she would live through infancy.  What a miracle this child is!
