Friends

Dear friends are precious. And I think sometimes they are hard to come by. It's hard to find another couple with whom we get along well - all 4 of us, that is.

When we lived in NJ, we met a couple who we are now dear friends with.  We've traveled with them, spent time in each others' homes and I talk to "S" 3-4 times a week.  They now live in NC.  The distance between us sometimes makes me ache... I know. It sounds so cheesy but it's true. I miss that girl. She's like a sister to me.  This pic was taken on a cruise we took together a few years ago.

After moving back here from NJ, the Lord gave Brad and I a group of wonderful friends who love the Lord, are in the same stage of life as us, and live nearby.

These dear friends... and one not pictured... are the girls I  call for encouragement and who I email when I need prayer.  We have shared the loss of loved ones, the birth of our children, medical emergencies, you name it.  And I imagine we'll be there for each other when our kids leave home and when they get married and when we become grandmothers.  These girls and their husbands, and our NC friends are a gift from the Lord to Brad and I.
